Happy new year! I was originally totally excited about the fact I was going to be going to a party and not staying home and eating Chinese takeaway until I feel like puking and then it was cancelled so my friend Jemima and I had a sleepover and watched a billion youtube videos of pugs and ate pretzels. At midnight we burnt about five packets of sparklers and decided to skip all the being deep and reflecting on the past year stuff and just sing Cheryl Cole on Omegle until 3am and laugh at drunk statuses. Christmas was pretty cool and full of family and food and I'll write about the presents I got at some point. I haven't photographed any outfits lately due to laziness and the fact I've been staying at my grandparent's I WILL TOMORROW I SWEAR. So, here is a post about my favourite zines which I've been sent/have swapped. Normally I like to keep zines off the internet because they're so special, these are just so amazing I kind of have to share a little bit of each one. Also if anyone else would like a pdf of my zine, just email moi and I'll send you one.
Tom Girl was sent to me by Judith and is mainly about feminism (like the actually feminist sort of feminism, not the aesthetic sort.) It's a lot like the old Bikini Kill graphics and is black and white without being too austere. The collages are really sweet and the balance of images and writing is A*.
These pictures by Roma kind of tie in with my own obsession with photographing details of houses and buildings in the area around me and finding beauty in all the weird ugliness of it.

This is my favourite part because, well, two of heroes on the same page is always gonna be amazing.
Yeppp, I have written about ON before but this post would be incomplete without it. Hvit sent it to me and it is a lovely pick and mix of feminism, photography and art (plus my mug on the cover.) I also like that's it's mini and is one of the things I can take with me when I'm travelling or whatever and need something for inspiration despite being unable to lug my stack of four years worth of magazines with me.These pictures by Roma kind of tie in with my own obsession with photographing details of houses and buildings in the area around me and finding beauty in all the weird ugliness of it.
Sinead sent me this beauty in an envelope full of glitter (aka fairy dust) and it is just so amazing. I love hand drawn zines and this makes me wish I could draw and hadn't dropped art because it is just so perfect.
Chosing my favourite page took OH ONLY LIKE FOUR HOURS and this one is so amazingly accurate- the little hair bows, the stockings, the heart bag, the earrings and so on.
I was sent Grrl Gang by Tess Connellan and it is another totally volcanic collage zine, about the representation of girl gangs in movies. Everything is embellished and sparkly throughout with lots of qoutes.

woop! ON rules! thanks for the mention!
Zines are so awesome, people treat blogging as strictly this annoying internet thing but there is so much more to it. Like zines.
Such a good selection! It really makes me want to do a zine again :)
